Hello! I’m Ariel…

I’m all about that healthy-ish lifestyle and my food is at the center of my universe. When I’m not cooking, eating, or photographing my food, you can catch me passing the time on the trails or playing with purr babies. Happy Eating!

Mango & Nectarine Smoothie Bowl

Mango & Nectarine Smoothie Bowl

This smoothie bowl is perfect for a hot summer morning or an afternoon snack. Smoothie bowls are meant to be works of art because otherwise you would just blend everything together into a regular smoothie. You could accidentally blend a whole stick of butter into your smoothie and no one would notice a difference until consumption (please do not serve me a butter smoothie). Alternatively to a normal smoothie, a smoothie bowl is a showcase of the ingredients inside the smoothie and how fresh they really are! You must take your time to beautifully slice the fruit and arrange it carefully on top of the smoothie. My mom always says, "presentation is everything" and in this case that is completely true. Treat yourself to a beautiful bowl.

Mango & Nectarine Smoothie Bowl

  • 1/3 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1 sliced mango
  • 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 sliced nectarine
  • 1/2 cup orange/peach/mango juice (any kind will do, I used a mixture of all three)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of coconut flakes
  • 1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon of buckwheat seeds

*Note: These quantities may differ depending on how thick the yogurt is and how frozen your mango and/or banana are.

Directions

1. In a blender, blend the yogurt, banana, juice, frozen mango, and a quarter of the fresh mango. Check the consistency and add more yogurt to thicken or more juice to thin the mixture.

2. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and arrange your sliced mango and nectarine lightly on top. Sprinkle the chia seeds, buckwheat seeds, and coconut flakes on top and enjoy your work of art!

3. *Optional* Purchase a coconut bra and grass skirt and eat your smoothie bowl while listening to a Spotify playlist of ocean waves and breezes.

Happy Eating!
